Prometeus – How Many Of These 2007 Predictions Came True?

Man is God.
He is everywhere, he is anybody, he knows everything.
This is the Prometeus new world.

I remember watching this Prometeus video for the first time in 2007 and I was completely entranced by the what was being said. It was probably the first online video that inspired me to think BIG… to think bigger than what the Internet was in 2007. Back then the Internet was a very different place.

Cleverly edited it blends current facts of the day (Flickr being the largest repository of photos, Naptster being sued) with events that were inevitably going to become true (free Wi-Fi), plus some really ambitious concepts such as Google buying Microsoft (ouch!).

The video was completely accurate about predicting the rise of tablets (without of course naming the iPad). But it failed to mention anything about the rise of social networking (aka Facebook), or anything about social recruiting and how the Internet will give rise to a new breed of global company who only employees remote workers using social employment networks such as oDesk and eLance.

Prometeus instead chose to focus on virtual experiences and space exploration (which itself is a huge market just waiting to be explored). Btw, What happened to Second Life?

How many other predictions can you spot that are now true?
